Top Strings for Spin Potential

Are you interested in increasing your spin? Would you like to add more rotation to the ball, pushing back your opponent far behind the baseline and knocking them out shot after shot? A good spin-oriented string can make all the difference. The strings ability to generate spin is what we call the string's spin potential.

Our Top Picks

Spin String: Best Overall Performance

"When it comes to spin, it doesn’t get much better than RPM Blast Rough. In addition to having one of the highest spin scores in our string lab, the rough version of RPM Blast is softer and more arm-friendly than the standard version." - Troy, TW Playtester

Spin String: Best Overall Value

"The Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable has probably the most impressive bite on each stroke. The square shape gave me a special feeling but I've got used to it after 5 min. As it's low-powered it allows you to hit without fear!" - Anthony, TWE Playtester

How does it work?

Spin Potential is the ratio of 2 factors:

The string-to-ball coefficient (COEF1): this calculates how the string will stick on the ball. It's linked to the surface texture, the material, the coating, or the shape.

The string-to-string coefficient (COEF2): measures the resistance to string sliding on itself.

To make it simpler, the spin potential will be best with a string construction that is able to grip the ball, and mains/crosses sliding perfectly on themselves. This sliding motion of the string is probably the most important element, which we call the snap back.
