Overview

The latest update to the Speed MP doubles down on the outstanding feel, quick handing and controllable power that has long defined the Speed franchise. With its classic straight beam and sub 65-RA, the Speed MP 2022 delivers outstanding ball feedback. It also feels solid against pace while possessing the needed speed for hitting shots on the run or staying active at net. Compared to the Speed Pro, this stick is not only lighter and faster, it also packs a more modern and spin-friendly string pattern. For 2022, Head keeps Graphene 360+ which combines the stability and power of Graphene 360 with SpiralFibers in the lower head for a cleaner feel at impact. Head also adds a uniquely flexible Auxetic construction in the yoke, which calibrates ball feedback to impact force. Intermediate and advanced players looking for controllable power and great feel with love this one.

powerful racketThis racket is awesome! It hits the ball hard but I can still control it where I want to hit. It's great for both blasting winners and placing tricky shots. This racket would be a good fit for anyone who wants to improve their game, from beginners to experienced players.

Mixed feelingsAfter playing twice with this racquet, here is my impression: Coming from more "traditional" feel frames, such as Gravity Tour and Prince Phantom 100x, it was quite strange at first. The first time I chose no to string it, and played with factory strings. The thing I noticed the most was a surprising jarring feeling when hit outside the sweet-spot, and a disturbing sound when manufacturing spin - metal-like noise, which makes you wanna through away the racquet. But, it was easy to play with, from the begining. Although the trajectory is quite high and loopy, you can FLAT the ball if you stroke really fast. And the feel is not bad either. I had a problem putting the serve inside the box, but it was powerful when it got it. The second time I played, it was with my strings - KIRSCHABAUM CHAMPION 1.25 strung at 48/47. By doing this I got rid of the jarring almost completely and CONTROL was much better. Once I realized that "speed" is the key - you have hit the ball as fast as you can, and you don't need long strokes just accelerate in the right time - the racquet was working really great, even with my serves, which is my weakest aspect of the game. But, still I'm not sure this racquet is predicable enough for the long run - it hold too much "surprising" when the ball leave the racquet - sometimes you benefit from this because it's also hard to anticipate your shots, but sometimes it's just fail you. That's the reason I sliced all my backhands instead of hitting with 2 hands - I knew I can't trust it, with a shot I'm less comfortable with. But slices, surprisingly, sometimes works really well, and rarely fly out of the court.
