Overview

Yonex Poly Tour Strike is a low-powered monofilament polyester from Yonex. As a medium firm poly, this string is designed to give you a high level of control on your biggest swings. As a result, you'll find it easier to maximize stroke speed, resulting in easier access to pace and spin. Durability is impressive, making this a good option for string breakers.

Comments: These strings are sweet, baby. I'll echo Josh's comments in regard to how these compare to ALU Power. I put 4G in my first VCORE 98 and I've been wanting to try this string since it came out on the market. 4G is a good string, but for some reason I like the way Yonex strings perform in Yonex racquets. I have played with Poly Tour Pro before and I'd love to put it in my other VCORE 98 to compare it directly to Poly Tour Strike. I'd say this string is almost as soft and provides nearly the same power, but slightly more spin compared to Poly Tour Pro. This string really provides you with a lot of good things such as spin, feel, and power. There is also control, but I'd leave that primarily down to your frame and tension choice. I have these at 52 lbs and they have bed in nicely, providing a smooth, powerful feel at impact.

Comments: Strung them at 55 lbs in my VCORE 97 310g and I really liked these strings! They gave me a lot more control and a decent amount of spin. Made my game a lot more confidence in my placement and consistency. I've previously used Vokyl Cyclone, then Wilson NXT, then to Luxilon ALU Power and I prefer these strings to all of them. They aren't as cheap as the first two, but provide the same feeling as ALU Power while being less stiff. In my experience, I've found the grey version to be softer and longer lasting than the black. The black broke on me during normal stringing twice and once on court after no more than 5 hours. Grey holds tension pretty well and can get through about 6 hours of solid play. 4.5 Player.

Comments: Got to demo this string in a Yonex VS95 at the Tennis Warehouse set-up in Indian Wells. It was strung at 52 lbs. Loved it so much, bought the racquet and the string and got it strung at the venue. It feels firmer than my recent poly string of choice (Wilson Revolve 17) making it really positive on contact to really grab the ball for serious topspin. Got good pop and control on serve. I am a 4.0 singles and doubles player.
