Overview

With the Beast O3 98, Prince delivers a slightly lighter, more muted version of the standard Beast 98. As member of the Best series, this racket is designed to help you play more aggressive tennis (think power and spin). At 318 grams strung, the Beast O3 98 is weighted for intermediate players, but it packs a 326 swingweight, giving it enough stability and plow-through for the more advanced player. The defining feature of this racket is O3 Technology, which enables the strings to move more at impact, allowing them to soak up more vibration than a conventional solid beam racket. As a result the Beast O3 98 feels more dampened than the standard Beast 98. This racket also features the second generation of Textreme. In addition to increasing flexibility and stability in key locations of the frame, this updated material technology is reinforced with Twaron, an aramid fiber known for its dampening properties. On groundstrokes, the Beast O3 98 has the needed ingredients to hit a heavy ball. It is fast enough for taking long, powerful cuts at the ball, but it also feels sufficiently stable against big hitters. The O3 Technology helps soften the blow on off-center hits, which bodes well for the player seeking a more muted feel. The combination of speed and stability makes for effective volleying. On service returns the Beast O3 98 feels solid on defensive blocks and counterpunches. Ultimately, with this O3 version of the Beast 98, Prince delivers the spin and power of a modern player's racket but in a more comfortable package.
