Overview

With roots that extend back to the 2007 Aero Storm, the Pure Aero VS continues its trajectory as the more controlled version of the standard Pure Aero. For 2020, Babolat adds some extra mass, a thicker beam and a more headlight balance while keeping the spin-friendly precision of the previous generation. With its 630cm² head and 16x20 string pattern, this stick's control will give you the license to swing big (and generate juicy levels of power and spin). It also packs a speedy 321-RDC swingweight, making it great for cranking winners on the run or charging into the front court. For this update Babolat continues with its signature Aeromodular beam, while also adding their Pure Cortex dampening material to the head at 3 & 9 o'clock for a slightly softer ride with a nice boost in pocketing. The signature technology, called FSI Spin, utilizes wider string spacing for extra bite along with oblong grommets at 6 and 12 o'clock to maximize string movement and snapback. On groundies the Pure Aero VS feels crisp and surgical, and the newly thickened beam supplies a tad more pop and torsional stability. The speedy feel not only translates into easy pace and big spin, it makes for quicker reactions on service returns and at net. This racket also shines on serve where it whips powerfully through contact to deliver juicy spin and easy placement. Ultimately, this update to the Pure Aero VS checks all the right boxes.  Aggressive players looking for a speedy and spin-friendly weapon should start here.
