Overview
Offering easy access to pace and spin, Head's MXG 5 is ideal for strong beginners and intermediate level players. At 292 grams strung and boasting a slightly extended length, this stick will enable you to take powerful cuts at the ball. The forgiving 677 square centimeter head delivers easy power, and the grippy 16x18 string pattern supplies plenty of bite for bringing the ball down with spin. Head builds this stick with MXG Technology, which combines the power and dampening of Graphene Touch with a Magnesium infused throat bridge. By keeping the upper hoop more stable at impact, this unique throat bridge creates a more predictable launch angle off the string bed (think control). It also accommodates longer, free moving main strings (think power and comfort). On groundstrokes power comes easy, and the speedy feel makes this a great racquet for hitting shots on the run. At net the 677 square centimeter head provides a large strike zone for making clean contact with the ball, and the maneuverability means you won't be caught off guard. On serves, the slightly extended length translates into easier power, and there's more than enough spin potential for hitting effective slices. Ultimately, with the MXG 5, Head has delivered a nice option to the intermediate player who wants easy access to power and spin.
