Overview
Babolat updates their lighter, faster version of the Pure Drive, introducing new technologies to the frame that make it an even more powerful and spin-friendly stick. The 2018 model features the addition of FSI Power Technology which includes diamond shaped grommet holes and wider string spacing, extending the rackets sweet spot and providing a noticeable boost in power and spin. This updated edition also features a new Cortex dampening system that uses specialised rubber for even greater dampening, creating a more muted feel and maximising comfort. Players who are looking for a bit more maneuverability but enough mass to still accelerate and power through the ball with some stability should enjoy this frame. Spin-seekers should find easy access to spin and high-arching balls thanks to the open 16 x 19 string pattern. With a headlight balance and a strung weight of slightly over 306 grams, this is a great frame for intermediate players looking for a fast racket that has a good blend of power, comfort and spin, or for strong beginners looking to add a bit of pace to their groundstrokes and serves. Overall, the 2018 edition of the Babolat Pure Drive Team offers a very comfortable ride with impressive maneuverability and easy access to power and spin.
