Overview
Yonex updates the extended length version of the VCORE 100. The result is an unmistakable boost in plow-through and pop. Like the VCORE SV version it replaces, the VCORE 100+ is ideal for the advanced player who wants a stable racket that hits a heavy ball. It should also work for the strong intermediate who doesn't mind trading some maneuverability for ball-crushing momentum. To cut wind drag, Yonex has expanded the location of its Aero Fin grooves to include not just the upper hoop but also the lower portion of the head. This technology is complemented by an Aero Trench grommet system that submerges the grommets to further reduce wind resistance. The upshot of these technologies is easier acceleration, which will help you load the ball with pace and spin. The VCORE 100+ also gets updated with a material called Namd, which is a uniquely flexible graphite designed to increase frame torque, ball pocketing and spin. Although this stick swings heavier than the standard length version, the extended length will give you the leverage to drive the ball powerfully through the court. The high swingweight keeps the racket steady when defending against the pace of a big hitter, and there's plenty of spin to be had thanks to the open 16x19 string pattern. On serves, this racket's extended length translates seamlessly into extra power and spin. The VCORE 100+ also plays great on service returns where you'll have the needed mass for redirecting the pace of a big first serve. All in all, this is a very solid option for the experienced player who wants to combine a high level of precision with stability, pop and spin.
