Overview
Pacific adds a very comfortable midplus racket to the Nexus franchise! In addition to comfort, the Nexus 102 specializes in speed, spin, precision and power. With its extended length (69,5cm), this racket will enable you to address the ball with extra momentum. The generous 658cm² head size is powerful and forgiving while still managing to feel wonderfully precise on full swings. The stiffness (70RA) keeps the response very crisp. The Nexus 102 is also quite stable and extremely comfortable thanks in part to a number of technologies. It starts with Basalt X Technology (BXT), which uses Basalt fibers in the graphite layup to filter out harsh vibrations. Comfort is further enhanced by an Air Dampening technology, which is added to the shaft to soften impact. Pacific also gives this racket their Stability System (PSS), which uses strategically positioned weights in the head to keep the racket more stable through contact. Finally, the Nexus 102 comes with Pacific's Speed Zone technology in order to minimize the shock of off-center hits. The upshot is a racket that feels very solid on groundstrokes and at net. The open pattern supplies more than enough bite for hitting effective spin, and the light weight translates into quick handling on volleys as well as explosive head speed on groundies and service returns. The slightly extended length is an asset on serves where our playtesters reported easy net clearance and big power. With the addition of a midplus Nexus to their line, Pacific has given intermediate players an outstanding balance of power, precision and spin. The high comfort level is a nice bonus.
