Head introduces a new material technology with this update to the Speed MP Legend

Introducing the 2025 Speed MP Legend! Styled with a stealth black cosmetic, this stick features the same mold and factory target specs as the standard Speed MP. In addition to its comfort and controllable power, the Legend packs a 60 RA, giving it the kind of buttery feedback experienced players crave. Compared to the Speed Pro Legend, the MP comes with a 16x19 string pattern, resulting in slightly easier spin, though it stops shy of the heavy RPMs delivered by the Extreme MP. It also features a 325+ swingweight, keeping it stable against big hitters while upping the power potential. This model marks the introduction of a new material technology, Hy-Bor, which puts compression-resistant boron fibers in the shaft to create a more stable and connected feel through impact. This is complemented by Auxetic 2 in the yoke and handle to further optimize the feel and response. As with the previous generation, this model features Graphene Inside, reinforcing the frame in key areas for added power and stability. Ultimately, with some nice updates to the feel, the Speed MP Legend continues to be a solid option for intermediate and advanced ball strikers looking for controllable power and great feel.

Great racquet, glorious update!I've been a fan of the Speed line for quite some time now and use the Speed Pro 2022 as main racquet (I have three with identical specs). I also use the new Speed Tour 2026 (and some other racquets, as I love collecting them - I own all Blade 98 18x20 and many 16x19 for example). I just love the Speed feel, power and control. The MP has been a racquet I've loved for hitting sessions, fun play and doubles but never felt comfortable to use competitively (Club League) due to inconsistencies in the string bed, launchyness and too much power. The 2022 MP has been my favourite so far as the 2024 (which I use mainly for string testing now) version has a heavier swing weight and feels clunkier in some ways. I also preferred the feel of the 2022. But when the 2025 Hy-Bor Legend MP was released I couldn't refrain from getting one. What a glorious update this is. The feel at impact is crispier but still has the plush Speed feel. This 2025 Legend MP feels less muted than the previous edition and is rather closer to the 2022 feel, but with a slightly crispier touch, allowing for more feedback on where exactly in the string bed you strike the ball. This allows for much better control. The string bed als seems more consistent (than both the 2022 and 2024 MP) and the racquet is stable as can be (the 2024 was very stable already - this was a slight problem of the 2022 which I solved with lead and leather grip). Returning hard&heavy serves is no problem, same goes for net play. The Hy-Bor addition has this special moment when hitting a perfect shot that it gives the player a kind of buzz-feedback (not literally of course), which is very rewarding. The racquet is very user friendly (typical for all Speeds) and the lower swing weight in comparison to the 2024 MP makes this one easier to swing and achieve enough racquet head speed to allow for stacks of topspin. Any kind of. And you can play it with any kind of forehand grip (from more old fashioned to all kinds typical spin grips). the Speed MP has been hailed as a kind of Jack-of-all-Trades and it really is. The new 2025 MP Legend is marvellous and can be played in stock form. After searching for the ideal setup, I did add a leather grip and 4 gr of lead tape underneath the leather grip which brought the unstrung weight of the racquet up to 316 gr. and gave me a more headlight balance. With Tecnifibre Razor Soft 1.30 (I string at 25/24kg now after having tried out different strings and tensions), this racquet is a very precise and powerful weapon and gives me massive control (which is also due to Razor Soft in combination with the racquet). And I have started using it competitively now and successfully as it provides and ideal coupling with the Speed Pro depending on match situations and surface (on slower outdoor clay courts, the MP is more forgiving than the Pro, which is better indoors on fast surfaces). Couldn't be happier about this new Speed MP and will be getting a backup soon. Other string setups I tried: Razor Code 1.25 at 23kg, very controlled, but a tad too powerful for my liking. Grapplesnake Tour Sniper 1.25 (I believe) at 24/23kg, very good, but much better in the Speed Tour. RPM Rough 1.25, nice feel, but too powerful for the racquet. Volkl Cyclone 1.25 and 1.30 at different tensions from 23 to 25 (either both mains and crosses or with 1,5 kg less in the crosses), very very good, my second favourite string setup, especially 1.30 black at 24,5/23kg. Lynx Tour 1.25, okayish, did the job, but wasn't much fun. Not even after the break-in period. Tecnifibre Razor Soft 1.30 at 25/24kg, just awesome. Easy first choice. Plush, fabulous control, stunning sound and great snapback/spin access, not harsh on the arm (not even at this tension!).

Finally, the perfect Speed MPAfter I finally found a string setup (Razor Code blue 1.25 at 23kg) and customized my 2024 Speed MP (10 gr led in the throat, leather grip), I got the consistency and stability I'd searched for. So now, I got myself this new Speed Legend MP (2025) as a backup. And was blown away. This new version with the Hy-Bor tech added is just perfect, it plays the way the older 2024 version only played after my customizing. The string bed (although it looks identical) feels absolutely consistent, no irrational launches, the power level of the racquet is maybe a tad less than the 2024 version, but that allows for full swings without having to worry about hitting the ball to the fence. The stability in stock form (my racquet arrived just 1 gram overweight, which is perfect) is awesome. Just played a match against a big hitter and never felt the racquet budge in my hand. Not even against 150-160 km/h serves. The glossy finish looks awesome too (and the black racquet looks just stunning). I strung it up with Tecnifibre Red Code 1.30 at 23kg, but I believe this would also work with a livelier poly. Perfect for the one handed backhand! If you've been put off by the sluggishness and the launchy string bed of the 2024 version, you'll find a wonderful alternative here. This 2025 Speed MP feels a bit crisper and less muted than the 2024 MP, which is just sensational. Additionally, the racquet makes a kind of sound (thwack?) when striking a perfect ball (similar to the Gravity Tour 98 from 2025) which might be placebo, but make one happy nevertheless. I've played nearly all Speed MPs (my favourite feeling one was the 2022, which did need heavy customizing though), but this one is the best ever!
