Comments: I didn't care for this one. 17g strung in a Pure Drive Tour. The strings felt like mush, and I didn't have a good feel for where the ball was on my stringbed at impact.

Comments: Had the white 17g version as a cross with VS team 17 mains at 56/53 lbs in a '13 APD. I am a 4.0 all courter with moderate topspin and a one-handed backhand. This combo lasted for 32 hours before the gut snapped. Very little notching and comfortable playability until the end. I was skeptical when my stringer suggested it but worked as well as any poly cross I've tried in a gut hybrid.

Comments: Strung three Wilson 6.1 95S racquets at 48 lbs, 51 lbs, and 54 lbs with Head hawk 17 (silver). They all felt very good and maintained tension for 6-7 weeks. After 8th week (hitting 2 times per week) and cycling through all three racquets, time to replace due to heavy notching -- but no breaks. To me, very similar to Wilson Ripspin but seemed to last longer, probably due to slip agent. Despite my heavy topspin, the "snap back" phenomenon was not really noticeable unless I took a big swing and brushed up the back of the ball. I will replace with same string shortly because I already bought the packs, but feel the string is too expensive for the benefit I am getting. Will probably go back to Volkl Cyclone 17 (black) which is half the price and should last about same length of time, and perhaps get better grip on the ball without having to turn my racquet face down to keep slow/angled shots on the court.

Comments: Hi tennis enthusiasts! I played with Hawk for some time now -- good control, good power, good feel, arm friendly! Although it has good spin, not the best, this is probably due to the modest snap back. The string plays wonderful when it's new and has some snapback but not the most. After 2 hours of play, the string is gone. So all in all, very good but too expensive for the lifespan, that's the only thing but it is a veto for me.

Comments: As a power player I usually have trouble getting a ball to do what I want. This string is great, it really bites the ball giving it enough spin to do what I want. It's soft enough to have great feel and play-ability (especially around the net). It's easy on my elbow which has bothered me for 4 years. The string has enough pop to put away a ball when i want to. It's also very comfortable on the serve but holds nothing back in the power department.

Comments: This is a very nice offering from HEAD. The new Hawk string provides all the typical benefits of a polyester string such as control, durability and spin, but in a softer, more feel-oriented package. FEEL: From the first hit, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this string is. Loved the smooth response from the stringbed. Not as stiff as most polys I have used. Really quite a unique feel: soft yet crisp, dampened but not mushy. Very easy on my elbow, I did not experience any arm pain, even after a long hitting session. CONTROL: Hawk offers excellent control. The ball trajectory was consistent and predictable and did not require as big of an adjustment as some polys do. I was impressed with both depth control as well as directional control. This, along with comfort, was the other area where this string excelled. SPIN: Spin was great for a rounded co-poly. Obviously it does not provide a bite like shaped strings do. However, you get generous amounts of spin. The string pockets the ball very well, and you can feel how it snaps back. Very good for baseline grinding, as well as kick serves. At the same time, you also can flatten out your shots from either wing to hit through the court. POWER: I was able to put good pace on all shots without the ball flying out. You will certainly need to generate your own power, but this allows you to take big cuts with confidence. TENSION MAINTENANCE: Hawk kept its tension very well, I noticed only a slight tension loss, better than most polys. After 7 hours, I still see fairly little notching in the mains, still no clear signs of wear. GENERAL IMPRESSION: Compared to other polyester strings, Hawk shines in the areas of comfort, feel and control. I really enjoyed hitting with this string. I would defintively consider this a premium soft poly. It might also serve greatly as a possible cross string in a gut/poly or a multi/poly hybrid.

Comments: For $15 I expect a lot more. Strung in my POG Mid as a hybrid, really wooden. After 3 hrs of hitting, it's getting cut out. Waste of money, nothing to see here folks

Comments: I went from a tonic and rough hybrid. I really like this string. I use the Graphene Speed Pro and its strung at 50 lbs. Very soft on my elbow and I like the increased spin.

Comments: I tried this string in a Dunlop Aerogel 400 (18x20) and offered excellent control and spin. You'll certainly need to generate your own power but I haven't found a string yet that could let me place the ball like Hawk does.

Comments: Tried this initially during the string playtest and thought it was just okay. However, strung up as a main in a hybrid with Gosen OGSM it produces great spin, durability is good and there is no discomfort in my elbow. A great string.

Comments: Seems to have a very nice blend of control, power and comfort. Not sure of the longevity at this point, but if it lasts at least as long as the many other polys I've tried, then I will be sticking with this for quite a while. 48 lbs in a new 95S.

Comments: I played with the new Head Hawk and was excited. I was not diapointed at all -- it is really not a bad string and has good power, good comfort, good control, feel could be a little better, and spin is very decent (but not top of the line but good). On average, nothing bad and mostly good things, just not very special string. It kept its tension very well.

Comments: Got to test this one early in August through Head's playtester program and it was amazing. Like they said -- spin was great for a rounded co-poly and the feel was just insane! Really lets you fine tune specific shots and provides fantastic control; definetley the best string Head has made to date.
