Overview
Volkl does a complete overhaul of the Super G 9, starting
with the name. This update is called the VSENSE
9
and it
brings more power, comfort and spin to the court. Unlike
the
Super G 9, with its dense and somewhat unforgiving 18x20
string
pattern, the VSENSE 9 comes with a comfy and very
grippy
16x17 pattern. At 326 grams (and boasting a whippy head
light
balance) this stick is fast enough for ripping winners on the
run, but it also has decent stability for a sub 340 grams
racket. To
improve the overall feel and response, Volkl adds their new
tri-carbon "C3”material to strategic locations along
the
shaft and head. This racket also comes with a less angular
beam construction to give it a more classic Volkl feel.
From
the baseline the VSENSE 9 plays lively and precise. Power
is there when needed, with full swings delivering huge spin.
Volkl also updates its dampening technology with its
VSENSOR Handle, giving this modern player's
racket a
smooth feel. At net this stick offers a nice compromise
between speed and stability, with plenty of put-away power
for
aggressive players. In addition to easy targeting, there's
also plenty of pop and spin to be had on serves.
Intermediate
and advanced players looking for speed, spin and precision
should give this one a serious look.
