Overview
The VSENSE 8 300 replaces the Super G 8 300
but keeps the user-friendly blend of precision, spin and
controllable power. At 300 grams and boasting a headlight
balance, this racket will enable intermediate players to whip
up
plenty of spin and pace (with an emphasis on spin thanks
to
the grippy 16x18 string pattern). As with the other VSENSE
models, the 8 gets a slightly less angular beam shape,
giving it a more classic feel than many of its competitors.
Volkl also
makes some changes under the hood, adding a uniquely
strong tri-carbon matrix to parts of the shaft and head. It's
called
C3 Material and it enables Volkl to vary frame flex
at key locations to optimize the response. Thanks in part to
its
VSENOR handle technology, the
8 offers decent dampening while still managing to feel firm,
crisp and surgical. From the baseline the VSENSE 8
300 accelerates with explosive speed and is well suited to
those
who like flicking winners on the dead run. Our
playtesters reported easy targeting on full swings, making
this a good
candidate for those who like to step on the gas and force
the action. At net this racket moves fast under pressure,
making
it a great option for those who value raw speed over
sluggish bulk. The combination of speed and accuracy is
also an asset
on service returns where this stick comes around fast to
deliver a predictable response. Although the VSENSE

300
lacks the stability of its heavier sibling (the 315 version),
this
racket is a worthy demo for any intermediate player looking
for speed, spin and precision.
