Comments: I originally ordered the regular non countervail Pro Staff 97 black from a other online tennis store but had issues with the way they billed my card and caused it to get blocked. So far I am impressed with it. For how light and powerful it is surprising how well I am hitting. It's so easy to swing and I feel like I can swing as hard as I want as long as I get plenty of spin. I have a it strung at 60 lbs with Dunlop S-gut and I need to find a deader string to be able to hit harder flat shots. But I am hitting crazy top spin with this thing. And I have never hit my back hand that well. My serve is lacking a little plow through to hit some heavy balls but if I just hit my serve and not try anything crazy I hit a very consistent serve with some pop just from the power from this stick. To be honest it's almost like this racquet sits some where between a tweener and a players racquet. I am getting power like from my other racquets ( Prince worrier 100, Technifiber T-Flash speedflex 315, And my Prince speed port black) but with added control from the head size. But I will say that the sweet spot is a little small. I don't have as big of a sweet spot issue as some of the other reviews speak of but I think that is because of string I choose. It's not as forgiving as my warrior 100 but I get a lot more control. It is a good platform to add weight and a good start into Pro Staff or if u think the regular 97 is to much for you because you can always add weight. I did demo the regular 97 and I do fell this plays like it just with a lot more spin and power and less plow through. But if u are looking for a light, arm friendly, spin machine then look no further. I think anyone can hit with this or make it fit there game very well. I am a 23 year old 3.0 player just as a point of reference.

Comments: Was excited initially when I bought this racquet as it was light and the spin potential it had. During actual match play, noticed that it was very inconsistent outside my sweet spot and i struggled on returns and running forehands/backhands. Overall was not pleased with this racquet and expected more forgiveness outside sweet spot. Forced to buy another racquet and have this as an alternative. (FYI -- used Babolat RPM Blast at 52 lbs while playing with it and my level is around 3.5)Pros: Weight is easily manageable and maneuverable. Great spin potential. Controllable power. Fun to swing with it! Best looking racquet and has Roger's pic.Cons: Does not have a huge sweet spot. No control over shots outside sweet spot.I would not recommend this to a strong beginner looking to get his first player racquet. May suit a intermediate to advanced player who want a lighter frame.

Comments: I bought this racquet after a lot of research and testing. I was hesitant to buy it after reading many reviews about how strings break so easy after a few hours of play. I still took my chances and I got Wilson NXT 16g put in these and those started shredding after a few hours of play. I started getting inclined towards returning it for a refund however I thought of using my regular strings (Prince XP Beast 17g) and giving it another chance. And boy what a difference -- I have played countless hours of tennis after getting my favorite strings in it and love the fact that they still look like the day I got it strung. They don't move much, have held their tension, right pace, control and spin. I fell in love with this racquet all over again. Highly recommended for an intermediate player like (I am a 4.0).

Comments: I have been a RF97 user and my shoulder starting hurting with my constant play schedule without taking any break days. But this frame is so light and surprisingly no shoulder pain even after two hours heavy hitting with another 4.5 player may be spin effect plays role with 16 crosses. This racquet is really fast and easy to take the ball early staying close to base line. This one hits a faster ball as one can swing faster with the light weight and only negative could be little less control compared to my RF97 but it compensates with lot of other positives. Great frame and highly recommend it.

Comments: Forced to leave a comment after receiving this awesome racquet. Aesthetically speaking, no other racquet can compare. I'm a 4.5 rated player and I string with a full bed of Luxilon Alu power at 52 lbs. The spin is awesome, big swings with great control. I especially love the crisp feel at net. Now to the flip side. Be prepared to restring this racquet -- often. Most polys aren't going to give you more than 4 hours of play. Get at least 3 racquets and either buy yourself a stringer or become friends with your club stringer. I'm going to try a 15 gauge.

Comments: Great racquet. I have the previous version and love it with some weight added to the handle and 3, 9 and 12 o'clock at the head bringing it up to 11.3 ounces strung excluding the overgrip. However, I have a problem with string movement after a few hours of play (with a full bed of poly).

Comments: Great stick. I had to try it. Augments my 6.1 95s very well. I question the specs (3PT HL), but I like the feel. Customizing is the next step, a little weight here, and a little there. I prefer stringing in 58-60 lbs range. Serve and volley requires a little tighter string, but, that will change when I turn 75! Take care and be safe.

Comments: A very powerful Pro Staff racquet. I previously used the Pro Staff 97 (2015 version) with a hybrid string set up, both polyester (at 55/53 lbs). I strung this new black 97 LS at 56/54 lbs, but it was still more powerful than the PS97 2015. Thanks to spin effect technology, it's very easy to hit topspin to bring the ball down to the baseline. Maneuverability is exceptional and very soft on my arm even though the stiffness rating is at 67. Anyway, what I like most about this racquet is the paint job. The matte color surface gives a better feel when holding the neck of the racquet when hitting a one-handed backhand.

Comments: Oh boy! I was at my local tennis club hitting some groundies on the ball machine. My time was up and I was picking up balls when a guy about my age (62) came on the court and was warming up his arm with what appeared to be the RF Autograph. I asked him if the weight was manageable and he said it was a TW demo of the Pro Staff 97LS and not the heavy RF black racquet. He asked me if I wanted to try it. He went over to the ball machine and cranked my ball speed from 55 to 75 and I thought this was going to bad because of the lower swing weight of the Wilson. I was positively blown away by how this frame felt and how it gave my predominantly flat shots a whole hew angle and depth. It was so easy to use that I purposely tried to prepare poorly for the fast balls coming in. To make matters worse, it was strung with NXT and I'm a poly player. This stick would be sick if I strung it with Cyclone. I went over to the bench. Picked up my Dunlop with a 322 swingweight and tried to hit the same 75mph balls. Ugh. I couldn't reproduce the swing speed. Just felt awful. Damn. What do I do now?

Comments: As age catches up with me (almost 71), I'm a former NTRP 5.5 all-court player and have played with 12+ raquets all my life, so I was looking for a lighter weight raquet. The PS 97LS Black, strung with Champions Choice Gut at 52 lbs on the mains and 49 lbs with the Lux on the crosses, and it is perfect (at least for me). If you have the strokes, you can place serves anywhere you want. At the net, it is deadly. Drop-shots and overheads are excellent. Returns from flat, hard hitters are not a problem. From the baseline with the added spin, you can keep your opponents deep. Thanks FW (9/16) for your comments. And thanks to TW for your suggestions during the purchasing process.

Comments: I always enjoyed trying new racquets. I have some. Then, I tried the PS97LS. I love this stick! I am selling all the others. I am a flat stroke kind of guy and the Spin Effect technology of this racquet puts my strokes at a whole new level. Plus, it's not as hard on the body as the RF97 (for me nowadays). I string it with Luxilon Alu Power Rough at 48 pounds.
From:Horacio, 3/18/17

Comments: This stick is so easy and nice to play with. It seems to be designed to improve one-handed backhands. Strung with ALU Power Rough at 50 lbs. The more I play with it, the more I like it.
From:Karel, 2/21/17

Comments: Great racquet if you want tons of spin and also use poly strings. Otherwise, you'll be restringing very often. The paint texture is great. Despite being a light racquet it's mostly a control racquet. Used to play with heavier, control oriented sticks, but after a surgery this gives a similar feel and stability without as much physical demand. My NTRP level is 4.5 and I string with Luxilon M2 Pro 16.
From:HP, 1/17

Comments: Demo'd the stick and liked it very much. Ordered two and immediately started breaking strings every two times out. Hope I didn't make a mistake. Strings are all over the place after every forehand.
From:Gene, 12/16

Comments: This racquet's design and string pattern are too hard on the strings. I have to change strings every two weeks. Does one really need that much spin? Personally, I don't think the design and string pattern is practical and economical. The return is not worth the investment.
From:Doug, 11/16

Comments: Great racquet -- lightweight, very stable and powerful. I used the Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 85 when I played professional (Division 1) but I stoped tennis for 15 years for personal reasons. Now I returned back to tennis and I was looking for a lightweight racquet that can keep the feel of the my old PS85. This PS97 LS was the right one with a great classic feel. Great stick I highly recommend it.
From:FW, 9/16

Comments: I fell in love at first pick up at the Open, and once got home, the next day, I ordered one. It feels like a part of my arm and is very comfortable. I just received it two days ago, and I can say with no doubt, the size of the head, weight, balance, string pattern, etc. do nothing short of enhance it. It literally feels like a part of my arm extended. I went with black strings to keep with the rich look, as well will keep the grip black forever. I feel I found my perfect racquet in specs, as well as aesthetics. My previous racquet was the Babolat Drive Max 105, which I will keep in case need super light one, but I can say with confidence, this LS feels perfectly made for me, as I am not advance for the Autograph, so the marriage of high intermediate player I am, has me feeling I will be with this specific racquet the next several years or more. I look forward to the many friendly and league play matches. All the best to those that smartly choose this racquet. It plays how it feels, and looks just as great. I totally recommend this product.
