Overview

Updated with FSI Technology, Babolat adds some surgical precision to the powerful Pure Drive 107. Perfectly weighted for beginner and intermediate level players, this racket's solid blend of power and control is ideal for both singles and doubles. Weighing under 300 grams and boasting a 'whippy' head light balance, the Pure Drive 107 feels fast and explosive - yet there's enough mass in the head to help keep the racket stable at impact. Thanks to Babolat's innovative FSI Technology the Pure Drive 107 comes with tighter spacing between the upper cross strings as well as a redesigned sweetspot. The resulting increase in control should enable the player to swing more aggressively when adding pace and spin. On groundstrokes this racket not only feels comfortably crisp, but it whips around very easily to deliver a powerful yet very accurate response. The open 16x19 string pattern supplies the needed bite for creating heavy spin. At net the fast feel and large hitting area makes for very easy volleying. There's also enough power to put the ball away. Ultimately, the Pure Drive 107 is a great option for those players seeking a generous hitting area without sacrificing directional control or stability. Factor in the maneuverability and high comfort level and you have the makings of a very popular oversize racket.

Comments: I am a senior (60 years old) player at the 3.5 level. I took up tennis late, and have demo'd quite a few racquets moving up a level. I used the Wilson Steam 105S for the last 2 years and really liked the power and spin. I feel the Babolat Drive 107 is very similar with a bit more control and larger sweet spot. Volleys are more crisp as are overheads. The ball seems to stay in the court and the racquet is easy on the arm. Could not recommend it enough. Strung with Addiction 17 at 55 lbs.

Comments: I had been playing with the Prince EXO3 series (105) and while it was a superb racquet, with both a large sweet spot and excellent control. I found I was constantly dealing with shoulder and upper-arm soreness. (I am a senior player.) When it went on sale, I bought one of the Pure Drive 107s, 2012 model, and noticed an immediate improvement in damping vibrations -- no more soreness, even after a subpar game of off-center hits. The 2015 model I just purchased plays just as well, with its extra swing weight not really noticeable. Both offer useful power and control, with good mobility at the net. A good choice for the intermediate or senior player.

Comments: Having read the reviews, I decided to try the the Babolat 107 (2015), suggest anyone unhappy with Pure Drive 110 try this as it's the best racquet I've ever played with. Great for serving, volleying and groundstrokes. Plenty of power and yet somehow keeps good control. Good for singles and an ideal doubles stick, can't recommend it enough and it's easy on the elbow. First racquet I haven't used a vibration dampener with.

Comments: I have used a Prince Controller off and on for 25+ years and loved it. I had an Ulnar Nerve transposition done many years ago and am very sensitive to vibrations. The PC was perfect for that, but it was like swinging a broad sword! I tried several of my friends' racquets, and the vibrations from each racquet tore up my arm. I finally contacted TW, and they recommended (among other racquets) the Babolat PD 107. At first I wasn't too happy the demo version, but bought it anyways thinking it was something I could work with. I dialed back the tension a bit and put in a multi-filament string and couldn't be happier. There is absolutely no perceived vibration and I have all the power and control I can handle.

Comments: Wow. I added a leather grip with dry tack over grip and lead tape on handle and frame. Wish it were a little more stiff with less flex but the power is there with control. Keeping a lot of balls in play, maybe because of the "forgiveness" of the flex, and I am serving better. Probably an over looked and under rated racquet. I would like to see TW review more racquets in this category.

Comments: I won't play with anything else! Plenty of forgiveness and power if you hit it right!

Comments: I love this racquet! Easy finish and great depth when serving. It is perfect!
