Overview

Babolat makes big changes to the AeroPro Team, but keeps the same light weight and user-friendly playability that has made this such a great option for strong beginners, hard charging juniors and intermediate level players. This update is called the Pure Aero Team and it delivers even bigger spin and power than its predecessor. Updated with FSI Spin Technology, the Pure Aero Team features wider spacing between the crosses for a tighter grip on the ball. Additionally Babolat has widened the grommet holes, giving the strings a greater range of movement so that they can move further out of position before snapping the ball out of the stringbed with greater spin. Factor in the maneuverable swingweight (305 RDC) and you have an easy swinging racket that will enable players from across the skill spectrum to create effective pace and spin. From the baseline the Pure Aero Team plays with a surprising level of comfort and stability for its light weight. Full swings deliver an impressive combination of pace and spin, and the firm beam provides a very crisp and accurate response. Players looking to start serving with more spin and pace will love how easily this stick explodes through contact. The maneuverability is also a huge asset on service returns where the Pure Aero Team not only comes around fast but delivers a high level of accuracy. Babolat has delivered a very maneuverable weapon to the player who wants the precision and spin of the standard Pure Aero but in a lighter, faster package. It should also work well for the more advanced player who wants to create the perfect specs through weight customization.

Comments: I've had this racquet for two years. At first I was hitting everything long and was thrown off by its relatively light weight. Especially when returning serve. But once I got used to it (two months), I've grown to really like it because it is incredibly maneuverable. You can take big swings at the ball--quickly--because it is so light. Easy to move around the net. Easy to serve with. If you crave "stability" and a heavy feel, this is not your racquet. But if you like to hit with lots of topspin and take big cuts at the ball, it's worth checking out.

Comments: I was looking for a new racquet and I demoed the Wilson Burn, this and the Pure Drive and this racquet felt incredible! On groundstrokes I found easy access to depth but still lots of control, I got loads of spin on both sides, I hit my forehand with lots of spin and my backhand is pretty flat but i still got some spin. When I was trying flatten out my forehand and hit through the ball I noticed a little drop in consistency but nothing major. Had lots of power on the serve and I really felt I could hit my spots. My kick serve also felt like it jumped up a lot more. Serves were definitely the best part of the racquet and the main reason I switched. Vollys also felt very stable and maneuverable but there was a little loss of depth outside of the sweet spot. Overall would highly recommend this racquet. I am a 4.5 "aggressive" counter puncher with a semi western forehand and flat two handed backhand. I use this with a leather grip and Tourna grip xl strung with RPM Team 16 at 54 pounds.

Comments: I've been experimenting a lot, lately, and coming "down" from heavier player's sticks. The transition was not easy, but when it "clicked" there was no going back. To the great thanks to my coaches, Boris, Dejan, Jakob and Ugi, in alphabetical, but not merital order, I am now in with topspin, forehand and backhand. And it is such a revelation. But, you have to go for the right stick, like this one. You cannot got for that snap with a 6.1, at least, I can't. Even with serve, slight adaption prove very rewarding. Polyfibre TSC 1.20 at 52 lbs and the world is in order. If you are in for a modern game, realistic about your abilities, this one is for you. Quite soft on the arm, surprisingly. I'll stick to this one, if only to avoid the fiery glances of my caoches.

Comments: I purchased two of these. They had almost identical specs to the Head Graphene Touch Speed S racquet except for the stiffness. They play very similar with the head offering better control and comfort, while the Babolat seemed a tad more powerful and better spin. It responds well when weighted up. I went with a polarized setup and added 4 grams at 12 and 6.5 grams in the buttcap. Swings even faster and has a little better plow. This is an excellent racquet because it is versatile like the Head. You can play with it as is, or add weight to step it up a bit. The 72 RA is not an issue for me. I have one strung with ALU Power Purple at 54 lbs, and the other with Dunlop Black widow, 17g at 53 lbs in the mains and 16g at 51 lbs in the crosses. The one with the black widow strings certainly bites the ball the best while the one with ALU power just has that magic feel and touch you get with Luxilon strings. My eight year old son is currently using a Pure Aero Lite and is in the process of moving up to a lite midsize racquet. He's big for an 8 year old and the SW of the PA Team is perfect. This is an excellent racquet with superb maneuverability. It excels in just about every category. I would recommend this racquet to upcoming juniors, intermediates, and even advanced players.

Comments: Recently I have shifted from Head Radical Pro to Babolat Pure Aero Team. The reasons were as follows: more spin, lightweight, increasing swing speed, power and accuracy. The best part is that this racquet truly satisfies my needs. Awesome racquet.

Comments: I am a 4.5 player and I recently made a big change from the Wilson Steam 99S to this racquet because my coach suggested it so that I can get more wrist action. I had it strung with RPM Blast 16G at about 59 lbs. Although my groundstrokes improved a little bit, one thing I noticed was the vibration. At the time I was using one of the wide vibration dampeners (Wilson Shock Shield). At the suggestion of others, I switched strings to the Babloat Hurricane 16g with tension 52 lbs and still the vibration persisted. I added two additional smaller (round) vibration dampeners so now three total. Still the vibration is there and it is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?

Note from TW: There could be a couple things happening here -- either it can be a string issue or the racquet might need some weighting up. We would suggest stringing with a super comfortable string either in a hybrid or full set and we would suggest trying Wilson Optimus or Double AR Twice Shark. If that doesn't work, it may be an issue with the weight of the racquet.

Comments: Received my Pure Aero Team on Thursday 8/27/15 which surprised me. I had it strung with 17g RPM in the mains 55 lbs and the crosses strung with Gamma Glide strung at 50 lbs. I've chosen to use a small grip 0. The feel is good and I get that backend snap and the ball drops like a rock. People think the ball is going out but it has enough spin to ball the ball down. I'm going to see if my daughter wants to switch from the Pure Drive to the Pure Aero Team. Love the racquet.
